Privacy Policy

Your Photos

ToneChef handles two types of photos:

  • Reference photos — uploaded when generating a recipe. We create small thumbnails so you can see which photos you used when browsing your recipe history.
  • My Photos — photos you choose to attach to a recipe to remember the results it achieved. These are resized to a maximum of 20 MB and stored alongside your recipe with thumbnails.

All photos are stored securely and are only visible to you, unless you explicitly choose to share them (see “Shared Recipes” below).

Image Retention

Full-resolution reference images are deleted immediately after your recipe is generated. Reference photo thumbnails and “My Photos” are retained alongside your recipe for as long as the recipe exists.

When you delete a recipe, the recipe data and all associated images (reference thumbnails and My Photos) are permanently removed. You can also use the Clear History option in your account menu to delete all recipes and their images at once.

Shared Recipes & Photo Visibility

When you share a recipe via a public link, the recipe settings, your display name, and — if the “Include photos when sharing” toggle is enabled — your reference photos and My Photos become visible to anyone with the link.

Photo sharing is on by default when you create a share link, but you can turn it off at any time from the share menu. Removing the share link immediately revokes public access to the recipe and all associated photos.

What We Store

  • Your email address (for authentication)
  • Generated recipes and camera settings
  • Thumbnail copies of your reference photos
  • My Photos you attach to recipes (resized to max 20 MB)
  • Payment information is handled by Stripe — we never see your card details

What We Don't Do

  • We don't sell or share your photos or data with third parties
  • We don't use your photos to train AI models
  • We don't track you across other websites

Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from the account menu on your dashboard. This immediately removes your account, all recipes, thumbnails, and any unused credits. This action is irreversible.
